Planning a silver or golden jubilee for your parents
Most big anniversary parties are planned by the children: a twenty-fifth or fiftieth for parents, with relatives who attended the original wedding, old neighbours and colleagues. Some families begin with a pooja or a re-enactment of the varmala or the saptapadi, then speeches, a slideshow of old photos, the cake and dinner. For a couple who prefer it quieter, a family lunch with a short programme is just as meaningful.
Hall or lawn for an anniversary?
When the guest list includes many elders, the AC banquet hall keeps everyone comfortable through speeches and a seated dinner, and a projector screen or slideshow is easier to see indoors. The open lawn suits a cocktail-style evening with music and dancing on a cool night. If you plan a slideshow or a live singer, tell us early so we can plan the setup you will bring.
Keeping it a surprise
If the couple does not know, let us know who your contact is and who must not hear about it. We plan when guests arrive, where they wait and how the couple is brought in, often on the pretext of a small family dinner. Music is allowed till 10 PM. The other timings for your party are agreed in writing. Alcohol is allowed with the required licence or permit.
Food, decor and how to enquire
Some families recreate a dish from the original wedding menu or the couple's favourite meal; menus are shared on request through catering. Silver or gold accents, old wedding photos on display, a backdrop for family pictures: we plan the decor with you and confirm in writing what applies to your date; see decoration. Planning a birthday too? See the birthday party hall, or send an enquiry.
