Should the reception be on the lawn or in the hall?
The open lawn is what most couples picture for a reception: a lit stage at one end, dinner counters along the side and guests moving freely through the evening. It works well from the end of the monsoon through the cool winter months.
The AC banquet hall is the answer for a reception in May heat or in the middle of the rains, and for families who want a more formal, seated dinner. If the wedding ceremony is earlier the same day, holding the reception in the other space gives the team room to reset without keeping guests waiting.
How does a reception evening usually run?
Most receptions begin with welcome drinks and snacks while guests arrive, then the couple's entry, then a long stretch of guests going up to the stage to bless the couple and pose for photos. Dinner opens alongside the stage greetings, so nobody has to wait in a queue to eat. Some families add a first dance, a short speech from a sibling or a cake cutting.
Tell us the order you have in mind and we plan the stage line, the photographer's space and the dining counters around it. Music is allowed till 10 PM. The other timings for your reception are agreed in writing.
Food, drinks and decor for the reception
Reception menus are shared on request; ask us about live counters at the same time, since a mix of counters and a buffet helps a crowd of colleagues, friends and relatives all find something they like. See catering for how the menu is planned. Alcohol is allowed with the required licence or permit.
For the stage backdrop, the entrance and the lighting, we plan the decor with you and confirm in writing what applies to your date. Read more on decoration.
How do we enquire about a reception date?
Send us the date, a rough guest count and whether the reception is on the wedding day or separate. We reply same day (next morning if after 8 PM), and site visits run 9:30 AM to 8 PM, every day. Planning the whole wedding? Start with our wedding venue guide, or send an enquiry now.
